The 6 Things a Real Estate Coach Can Help You Do Better

| |

When I first started out as a Real Estate agent back in 2007, I tried so hard to stick to the traditional, old-school mentality of who I thought I “should” be. But trying to navigate this business on what I thought I “should” do left me overworked, exhausted and just trying to keep my head above water.

I wasn’t able to discover who I was in this industry or how to build a successful and sustainable business all on my own. For me, it took working with a Real Estate coach to really help me learn how to harness my strengths and values, build a personal brand, and eventually, help me build a business that would flourish.

After spending the last 12 years building a successful real estate business for myself, I’ve switched gears and have started coaching other agents. I want to be able to help other agents build a sustainable and successful business for themselves, just like my coaches did for me so many years ago.

Here are the top 6 reasons why you should invest in a Real Estate coach.

  1. You need someone to hold you accountable

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a hamster wheel of short-term sales? Do you feel like you are totally overworked and exhausted and you just can’t seem to get on top of things? The great thing about this industry is that you can build your own business and working hours, BUT, if you aren’t doing it right, this industry can take over your entire life (and trust me, it will).

Stop what you’re doing and take a step back. You need to evaluate what you’re doing right (and wrong) in your business and figure out how you can really start making this business work for you, instead of letting it run you into the ground.

I can help you find accountability, build a business that is going to work for you, and help you reach your fullest potential and have it all in this industry.

  1. You don’t know where to start

You know that feeling when you are totally overwhelmed, and you just don’t even know where to start tackling the pile of e-mails, follow-ups and inquiries you have waiting for you? You know that there’s all these things that you “should” be doing like; building a personal brand online, staying active and engaging on social media, marketing yourself on and offline, and the list goes on and on.

The most important step in getting everything done is to outline a plan and start writing down a to-do list. Developing short-term and long-term goals for yourself and your business will keep you on track. Working towards these goals will give you a better grasp on your day-to-day and reassure you that you are working towards tangible, realistic goals.

Let me help you help yourself. Together, we can build a business plan, develop your short-term and long-term goals, and start building a business that’s going to work for you.

  1. You haven’t been able to put yourself out there

So much of this business is dependent on confidence. If you aren’t confident in yourself, then how can you instil confidence in your clients to successful buy or sell their homes? Being yourself and being able to own it in this business is such a major factor in your overall success.

Putting yourself out there and being proactive in this industry isn’t something that always comes naturally. But something you can really capitalize on here, is being authentically and uniquely yourself. Having confidence in your own uniqueness and letting that help you drive your business is what is going to help get you noticed and what will help you build genuine relationships with your clients.

Let me help you bring out your best, most authentic and genuine self and put it at the forefront of your business.

  1. You’re intimidated by social media

I know for those of us who aren’t millennials (and even those of us who are!) social media can be extremely intimidating. Remember what I said about not knowing where to start? Building a personal brand on social media can seem like an overwhelming task, but it doesn’t have to be! Building a social media presence is just that – building!

To start, it is best to outline a marketing strategy or plan for your business. This will make it that much easier for you once you are ready to start posting on social media, because your main ideas, topics and points of interest will be outlined and all you’ll have to do is click ‘post’.

Let me help put you on the right track for success. Together we can build an online strategy and start building your personal brand today.

  1. You don’t really know who you are and why you do what you do

A lot of agents come to me wanting to learn HOW to build a sustainable and successful business but what they should really be asking themselves is WHY. WHY do they do what they do?

When I work with realtors, I help them discover their WHY. By uncovering and harnessing your WHY, you can really start building out who you are in this business.

Once we have a clear framework and understanding of who you are in your business, we can start to develop a plan as to HOW you can start building a successful and sustainable business that works for you.

  1. You need to perfect your pitch

Have you determined the Point of Difference (or competitive edge) in your business? Have you figured out that thing that defines you and makes you stand out against the competition? Discovering your Point of Difference and really honing it and putting it at the forefront of your business will not only distinguish you from the competition but will also help attract your target market.

Together, we can figure out your Point of Difference, what makes your business unique and how you can deliver the perfect pitch every time.

I know it sounds easy, but sometimes the hardest person to be is yourself, especially professionally and especially as a realtor. Over the years that I have been in this business, and through the help of a dedicated and encouraging coach, I have learned a lot — Not just about the market but about myself.

A real estate coach can help you not only build your personal brand and set your business up for success, but also teach you how to establish a work-life balance, getting the most out of your efforts and setting up significant and achievable short-term and long-term goals.
